1XBet sends Earth's team to Mars for a match against Jovians

Moscow/Baikonur, May 13, 2026 — The betting company 1XBet announced the implementation of an unprecedented sports project. Earth's football team, under the aegis of the company, will travel to Mars to play a historic match against the team from Jupiter. The goal is to defend the sporting honor of planet Earth in the first official interplanetary confrontation.

According to a statement from the 1XBet press service, the decision for the project was made after receiving an official challenge from representatives of the Jovian civilization, delivered through an interplanetary communication channel earlier this year. Jovians, described as a highly developed gaseous form of life with the ability to temporarily materialize, expressed an interest in Earth football as a form of cultural and sporting exchange. The match is scheduled for late 2027 at a specially prepared stadium in the Hellas Planitia region on Mars.

“We view this match not only as a sporting event but also as an important step in the development of interplanetary relations. 1XBet has been supporting football at the highest level for over 15 years, and today we are moving to a completely new scale. Earth must perform with dignity,” said 1XBet CEO Sergey Karpov.

For the mission preparation, the company has enlisted leading space agencies, including Roscosmos, NASA, and ESA. The ship “Terra United-1,” under construction in Earth's orbit, will be equipped with modules for training in low-gravity conditions. The total cost of the project is estimated to exceed 12 billion dollars. The financing is fully covered by 1XBet with the support of international partners.

Team Composition and Preparation

The head coach appointed is a specialist with many years of experience on the international stage — Portuguese Fernando Santos. The extended squad includes 28 players from leading European and South American clubs. Among them are several current world football stars who wish to remain anonymous until completing medical and psychological tests. It is known that the candidate list includes players from the national teams of Brazil, France, England, and Germany.

Preparation occurs in two stages. In the first, earthbound stage, athletes undergo an intensive adaptation course to Martian conditions: training in pressure chambers, learning the rules of the game in low gravity, and becoming familiar with the biological characteristics of the opponent. Jovians, according to preliminary data, will perform in a materialized form capable of changing density and shape. This will require special tactical flexibility from the Earth team.

“We are not just going to play football. We represent the whole planet. It's a responsibility of enormous scale,” noted one of the coaching staff members on condition of anonymity.

Technical and Scientific Aspects

The match will be conducted according to adapted FIFA rules, considering Martian specifics. The field, measuring 110×70 meters, will be covered with a special composite surface resistant to sharp temperature fluctuations. The ball, developed jointly with engineers from Germany, will have adjustable aerodynamics. The referee team will be formed from representatives of neutral planetary formations with the participation of observers from both sides.

The match broadcast is planned to be conducted in 8K format through a system of satellites and quantum relays. The audience is expected to exceed 5 billion viewers on Earth. 1XBet has already opened bets on individual match outcomes, although official odds will be published closer to the match date.

The scientific community has met the project with cautious optimism. Director of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Anatoly Perminov, noted: “Such private business initiatives can significantly accelerate space exploration. The Martian base, which will be built as part of the project, may later become a permanent scientific center.”

Global Community Reaction

FIFA officially supported the initiative, recognizing the match as friendly but of high prestigious status. Organization President Gianni Infantino stressed the importance of maintaining fair play principles in an interplanetary context.

At the same time, several environmental and pacifist organizations expressed concern about the possible risks of contact with extraterrestrial civilization. However, astrobiology experts assert that the technological development level of Jovians excludes the possibility of conflict at this stage.

The governments of leading countries expressed their willingness to assist in the project implementation. In particular, China and India announced their intention to provide additional technical resources to ensure mission safety.

Historical Significance

The 1XBet project goes far beyond sports marketing. It is the first case where a private company acts as the initiator and primary sponsor of an interplanetary expedition of such scale. Successful conduct of the match could open a new era in humanity's relations with other civilizations and give a powerful impetus to the development of space technologies.

“We believe that football can unite not only nations but also planets,” concluded Sergey Karpov.

Mission preparation continues. The first test flight of the unmanned module is scheduled for August 2026. The final composition of Earth's team will be announced after the selection is completed in September of this year.
